Christmas 2010.

So before February rolls in, I figured I should probably post our Christmas photos. I apologize for the randomness and total inconsistency with this blog for the last couple months. Chronological order means nothing to me, apparently.

First, here are a few photos from Christmas Eve at the Davis'.
Nice & Naughty...
JJ the elf spreading some cheer...

Christmas Eve night after Santa visited...

Early Christmas morning...
Checking out their stockings...
Someone got a "big kid" scooter!
Gavie loved Ky's new kitty. Silly santa, shouldn't you know better than to just get one kitty!
Pillow Pets! Hooray!
Sneaky Santa left a couple larger gifts in the basement. The kiddos were surprised when they turned the corner and saw a trampoline and train table!!
At the point that the photo below was taken Gav has yet to notice his new train table sitting just to his left in front of the tree. When he caught a glimpse of it in his peripheral, he did a double-take and nearly fell off of the trampoline.
It was love at first sight...

Little things.

Kylie has always loved "little things"... anything small, trinkety (is that a word?) and collectable is totally up her alley. Nothing beats her little plastic animals but these squinkies are a favorite, as well.

And anything she likes, he likes. Naturally.
(Mmm chunky baby fingers...)
They are pretty fun.
And photogenic. :)
Did I mention that I'm going a little stir crazy this winter? Well if I haven't, this last picture may give you an indication. I've resorted to photographing miniature toys.

Winter.

I'm ready for it to be over.
Kylie, on the other hand, is thoroughly enjoying every flake that falls from the sky.
It's perfect for mastering her snow angel skills...
... as well as her kung foo fighting skills.
Gavin joins her at times but gets overly frustrated when he can't hold onto his shovel through his thick mittens that don't really stay on.
So he usually retreats inside with me, where it's nice and cozy. And eats. Because really, what else are you supposed to do in the winter?
And boy does he enjoy eating. Definitely his momma's boy!

How many days til Spring???

Kylie's True Colors.

A couple notes:

- Make sure your volume is turned on so you can hear the music... the "choreography" will make more sense.
- Kylie is very much into lyrical/interpretative dancing. This is definitely her "style".
- I love watching her dance.
- She always has this face when she dances... cracks us up!
- We love Phil Collins.

(This is an iPhone video so the quality isn't great).

Kylie in Maui.

Just came across this video and had to share. It cracks me up. And it really makes me want to go back.

Gavo = 21 months old.

So hard to believe that my little nugget is going to be 2 before I know it (and I sorta am hoping that the next few months fly by because with his birthday comes Spring and with Spring comes being outdoors more and being outdoors mean kiddos burning off energy and energy burn-off means better sleepers and better sleepers equals a happier mommy. But I digress).

Here are some iPhone pics to showcase my Gavie over the last month...

My little 21 month monster. Such a little stinkpot, but oh so cute.
Loving on momma....
He sure does like his mommy. A lot. Some, ok most, days I would LOVE to hear him say something besides "MAAAA" 500,000 times. I look forward to the day that I can walk out of the room and not have him yell for me or chase after me as if I am leaving forever. But, what can I say, he adores me! I'm hoping this lasts throughout life (especially during the teen years).
When I get discouraged from his "high maintenance love" I try to remind myself of the quote...
"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world." And that makes me feel better... usually until the next "MAAAA"

But truthfully, he melts my heart over and over again. And he knows it.
Getting his 3rd haircut.
He gets into a state of relaxation when he gets his hair cut. It's so cute. Plus he loves dum-dums.
Little Brother. He's a pretty good one, too. Sure, he annoys Kylie and takes her things just to get a reaction, but mostly he just wants her attention and acceptance. They're such good friends and I love the little bond that they have.
His sleeping (or lack thereof) for the last 2 months has been enough to drive me bonkers! Going down to one nap has not been an easy transition for this little dude. He went from sleeping beautifully (a good 11-12 hours a night and 2 naps equalling about 3 hours) to sleeping lousy (up in the 6 o'clock hour and one very inconsistent afternoon nap... usually 1-1.5 hours with a 2-3er dropped in every few weeks just to tease mommy a little).
Because he isn't as rested as he should be, this has been known to happen... (something my kids never ever do!)
Having a big sister means he is one very well-rounded little man. The toys don't stop at balls and trucks and dinos. No sir. He loves dolls and barbies and can do a mean twirl in a tutu. Daddy may roll his eyes and shake his head but mommy thinks that he is going to be a very tough, yet sweet man (the best kind).

A little Bucks fan...

And a few of the dynamic duo...

Christmas with the Schneider G'Parents.

As always, we had a wonderful Christmas with Grandma Pat and Grandpa Tim. Kylie and Gavin were spoiled with love and gifts!
Kylie even got to pick out some of Grandma Pat's Christmas ornaments from her extraordinary collection to take home. She gazed at that tree most of the night, walking around and around pointing out her favorites. We came home with quite an eccentric assortment of ornaments... from beautiful glass ornaments, to a sock monkey (Gav picked that one and it just happened to be his daddy's when he was little), to some homemade ornaments, to a couple that were her Great Great Grandmother's many years ago, to a pickle. As soon as we got home she adorned her pink tree in her room with all of her new ornaments. She was a happy girl!
Gavin picked out some favorites, too... and most of them met their demise only a few minutes later on the tile floor. Glass ornaments+Gavin= bad combination.

They have the prettiest tree every year. Kylie really appreciated it this year! She LOVES colored lights!

Gav was fascinated by this snow globe. Not surprisingly, that generous grandma Pat gave it to the kids to take home, too!

Opening gifts... I didn't get too many pictures since they both were ripping and tearing like they've done this before, but here's one of Ky.
Thanks for another great Christmas, Tim and Pat! :)

Go Bucks!

Despite my heart nearly stopping multiple times, the Buckeyes came out on top last night. This momma would have been super annoyed if they had not... seeing as how I stayed up a good 2-3 hours later than normal (thanks to my early riser Gavie).
The kiddies were sporting their scarlet and gray yesterday!
Love this one!
And a more accurate portrayal of what the majority of the photos look like....
