Snowed in.

Since we were stuck inside again today, we had a little Valentine's photoshoot (slight bribery with a heart lollipop occurred) and we made some heart cut-out cookies. We're a little early in celebrating V-day, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do to pass the time and entertain a 2 year old!

Check out this cutie pie!

Say "Cheeeese"

says Kylie.  Santa brought her a camera for Christmas and she is constantly snapping away. What can I say, she gets it honest. I haven't gotten around to uploading her photos, but grandpa Tim reminded me that I need to do that. Here they are grandpa Tim... and you even made an appearance! =)

Kylie's world... through her eyes (er, lens):

Grandma Lori
Dora & Boots on the T.V.

... and Little Bear
Grandpa Tim
Mommy (laying down on the job... )
Daddy (getting down to Ky's eye level)
And, last but not least, a stunning self-portrait of the photographer herself (bink and all).

No crust, please.

Cabin fever. We have a bad case. It's 20 degrees today... no reason to leave the house (already made our weekly Target trip, so that's out).
So, what's the highlight of our day, you ask? LUNCH!
We like lunch. Lunch is Kylie's best meal, in terms of cooperative, enthusiastic eating goes, so we embrace this meal wholeheartedly.
Today's gourmet meal was PB&J served on 12 grain wheat bread and succulent apple slices with a side of creamy peanut butter (and a side of red bell peppers- one of Ky's favorite snacks!). Fancy, eh?

Being a ham for the camera. She insists on making goofy faces and acting silly when I bring the camera out, and then says "I wanna seeeeee!"

Apparently, she didn't want to waste her time on "crusts" today.

Basement Boy.

Since starting the basement last weekend, Matt has spent much of his free time down there working. And when he is not down there working, he is thinking about being down there working. This life will be our new reality for the next 3 months as he hurriedly tries to finish it before baby arrives, bringing with him lots and lots of luggage (aka.. baby swings, bouncers, toys, toys, toys, etc.).
Kylie is quite fond of this new adventure! She insists on being in the basement whenever daddy is and has taken on the role of daddy's little supervisor.

Also, a special thank you goes out to Tim, who has been a huge help so far!

Snow is the new sand.

Like so many other Northeast Ohioans, we were stuck inside for most of the weekend. The snowy cold weather made going outside a less than desirable thought. Kylie didn't really agree with this hibernation thing and at one point we saw her at the sliding door, socks off, pants rolled up, unlocking the door and starting to slide it open. "Kylie, where ya goin'?"... "Snow, mommy!" Mmmm-hmmm.
So instead of throwing some snow in the sink for her to play with, I decided to pull out the sand and water table and use that instead. It satisfied her craving. The girl loves her some snow!

Musician in the makin'

Matt decided to dig out the guitar the other day and put on a little concert for KyKy. Obviously, she LOVED it! The girl loves music... and my hope is that she has inherited her daddy's musical gene. I always wish that I was more musical... oh sure, I rocked out in Jr. High Show Choir, but the singing, dancing and entertaining ended there for me. =)

Whenever Matt plays, Kylie quietly and attentively sits and watches him. She even strums along at times!
Matt has added The Wiggles to his "playlist" and Kylie is his #1 groupie... I'll try to get a video of it soon.

New Year's Day

Some photos from the annual Schneider New Year's get-together.

Kylie and Andie enjoying some "cheese curls" together...

And humoring the photographer with some smiles...

Of course, there was family bingo... even Kylie got in on the action this year...

And, what do we have here?!...

Notice the carrot on the side of the plate... who would want a carrot when you could have a chocolate chip frosted gingerbread man? Someone has discovered her sweet tooth over the holidays.

Happy 2009!
I'm certain that this year has many more amazing memories in store for us... and, unfortunately, much less sleep... I think I'm gonna go take a nap.

New look.

I got bored. With the new year upon us, I decided to spice things up a little and move my blog over here to the good, old-fashioned blogger world. I debated for a few months whether or not to move and finally decided to give it a whirl. Our old site was great for showcasing lots of photos, but after a year, it started getting a little "photo heavy", which was making it a little slow to load. I have a real problem with deleting photos so that wasn't really an option for me. Hopefully, with blogger that won't be an issue, as every month is organized and saved in the "Archives."
As our little family of 3 prepares for an addition in the next few months, a quick blog update may also be less time-consuming than updating multiple pages on the previous site. When I do want to overload with photos... and we all know that will happen, I will create a .mac gallery and add the link here.
Anyway, if you are all up for the "transition", then I am too. Let's give it a try!
