Last day of preschool.

A mere 9 months ago, I very nervously dropped off my baby girl at her 1st day of preschool. She immediately fell in love and enjoyed every day of learning, meeting new friends, playing, crafting, reading, and snacking. Mostly snacking. (It was the 1st, and sometimes only, thing she would tell me about when she got in the car after class).

She started her year as an almost 4 year old with a little baby face and a sheepish grin.

And finished her year today, as a 4 (and 2/3's) year old with a longer, older face and an excited grin!
Yep, definitely bigger and older.
Make that a lot older!
Heading into preschool for the last time this year...
And after, with her sweet teacher.
Next year will be another year of preschool (3 days a week instead of 2) before heading off to that "K" place. Not ready to talk about that yet...
Luckily I have 1 more year with my preschooler.

And, now summer can join us. We are ready!

Soccer.

A month ago, Kylie joined her 1st athletic team and played her first "competitive" sport. Mommy and daddy were surely the most excited. We have both dreamed of this day since we found out that we would be parents. Sports have been always been a huge part of our lives, both independently and together.
We were thrilled to see that Ky enjoyed herself! Once the "game" began she did a lot of running around (running around the ball!) but not a lot of kicking. It was pretty cute to see the little swarm of bees chase that ball all over the field.

She pleasantly surprised us week 2 with a much less timid demeanor and even made some semi-aggressive moves and actually kicked the ball a handful of times!

Week 3, she mostly just had fun. It was a muddy mess, again (apparently spring soccer=mud soccer), and she lost her shoe in the mud at one point, but ran around that field with a smile on her face the entire time! She also really loves the 50 water breaks they get and of course, the snacks after the game (go figure)!

Here are some pics from her first 3 games:
(That tongue is constantly out!)
Proud daddy!
Giving Ky some pointers...
After the game... muddy but happy!
Week 2 (less cold, less rainy)
Gavin practicing his skills, too.
Going after the ball! Thatta girl!
Kicking!

Week 3!
The fan club! Grandpa doing a great job keeping Gavo entertained!

Going for a walk...

Muddy but happy yet again! So far, soccer is a success!

Mother's Tea.

Last week Kylie's preschool hosted a mother's tea. Despite being a little nervous to take Gavin and potentially witness him destroy a tea party in record speed, I was very excited to enjoy this day with my little girl who made me a mommy.
It was such a cute little party. Kylie was so proud of the crafts she had made and all of the songs they had learned.

Standing with her artwork... hers is the one to the right of her (the gray one). She is all about blending colors together!

Gav was proud to be his sister's little sidekick. This kid loves him some preschool! And he actually behaved himself like a little gentleman!
So proud of my sweet girl.
Love this pic... expecially Gavin's nice "smile"! :)

The secret to keeping Gavin occupied... cookies!!! Little man sat perfectly still as long as he had a frosted cookie in front of him!

Mother's Day.

I love Mother's Day. Yesterday was a perfect day... lots of love and doting on mommy!
More importantly, it's a great reminder how much these 2 mean to me and confirmation that this is what I was made to do. Love these 2 little kidlets SO much!!

Playing with daddy's iPad...

This momma feels pretty blessed to have these 2 goofs as my own.

Activity of the week.

Kylie's interests change (or rotate) every few days. Last week she was very into her beads again. She would sort and make patterned bracelets all day long. Then a few days later she moved her focus to her little melty peg beads (do they have a name? anyone?...) and couldn't get enough of them. This week she is all about coloring. And not just any coloring, either; it is a specific coloring book that she colors in a very specific way. (*cough*OCD*cough*)
I love how she is able to focus on these quiet activities because it makes for a peaceful "quiet time" hour every afternoon.

I got a couple shots of her focus the other day...
