Donnie Downer.

It's really a shame how unhappy this little guy is...
I mean, I wish he would just smile every once in awhile.
Life is too short to be grumpy all of the time.
Would it kill ya to have a little fun?!?
Maybe laugh at yourself every now and then?
Ok, I understand, it's hard work being a 13-month-old.
But try to suck it up and make the best of it.

"Hey mom, am I sensing some sarcasm here?!?"

Me + My Babies.

Better late than never. Me and my beautiful babies on Mother's Day. We were about to head out the door for breakfast, hence the sleepy eyes!
I'm one blessed mama. :)

Explorer.

Apparently, that is his exploring face. It's a serious job.

Easter.

So, I realize it is mid-May and Easter was weeks ago. But, with Gavin's birthday party being the same weekend as Easter this year, posting his party pics trumped Easter pics and the Easter pics got filed away and forgotten... until now!

Ky was excited to come down Easter morning to look for her Easter basket... that is, after she confirmed that the Easter Bunny was indeed GONE! She wanted to be sure that he went back to his house before she came downstairs!
Lots of goodies in her basket this year... gardening/digging tools, seeds to plant, note pads, gel pens, a dinosaur book (she loves dinos right now), and some candy.
Gavin was pumped about his basket, too... especially the bow!

That afternoon, we joined the Schneider clan for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Abbie sharing her bills! :)

The kiddies... 6 kids aged 4 and under!

Ice cream.

Up until about a month ago when we would go to Handel's we never ordered Gavin his own ice cream. He would get a few bites here and there but really showed no interest in having his own. That seemed to all change overnight. All of a sudden he was well aware that he was the only one without his own cone/dish! He would sit in his car seat and just stare at Kylie eating her ice cream. It killed me! After that trip, he now always gets his own baby dish of banilla (Kylie speak for vanilla). And he loves it!

After that last trip, and the long (2 mile) drive home staring at sissy eating her treat, we decided to make him a little dish of ice cream at home. Kylie insisted on being the one to feed him. She sure knows the way to her bro's heart... through his belly!

I love how she was doing the ineveitable "open-your-own-mouth-open-wide-while-feeding-a-baby" face.

The cyclist.

As promised, here are some photos of Matt and his other love... HIS BIKE.

For the last couple months, Matt has been racing once or twice a week. Due to work, the races are really the only times he even is on his bike. He is managing though, because every race except one, he has placed!

This particular race is on Tuesday evenings and since it looked to be a decent night, the kiddos and I tagged along to see Lance Matt in action.

Pre-race... he looks legit, right?!
And, is there an award for best looking rider? He totally has that one in the bag.
We found a nice piece of grass to sit on and got to see him do about 13 laps (each lap was about 2 miles).

He's in the middle (the tallest one, of course) with one of his teammates (aka neighbors) in front of him and one behind him.

And, of course we had some time to kill during each lap, so Kylie kept entertained by throwing some leaves.

I would see the riders round the corner and announce, "Here he comes!" Ky would run up to the sidewalk and wave and cheer and then just as quickly head back to play!
Very focused!
This is the final sprint to the finish. Matt is the bottom left, in the front. His teammate is leading.
But, Matt took him at the end.
We were so excited to see him win his first race!!
The teammates! Great neighbors, great friends and just so happen to also be great riders!
For inquiring minds... They are Team SSC. Funny story behind that one... Matt and his crazy humor strikes again. Yes, I'm leaving you hanging...

Chalk artists.

While making dinner yesterday, I could hear a lot of "scratching" sounds coming from the other room. I figured it was Ky at her chalkboard again but since I couldn't hear Gavin anywhere (never a good sign), I decided to go see what he was getting himself into (or onto... Mr. Climby Pants). When I went around the corner, this is what I found...
Just two little kiddies, peacefully drawing together.
It was the cutest!
And, you can see how proud Gavie is of his new accomplishment!

As for the chalk dust everywhere... I could have done without that.
Oh well, it was worth the memory! ;)

Biking and Puddle-Jumping.

I don't think I've posted any photos of Kylie and her new bike yet, so I figured I should probably do that. She's been 2-wheeling (plus training wheels) for about a month now and has taken to it like an old pro. I think she's a chip off the old block (I'll be posting about Matt's cycling escapades soon). She LOVES riding her bike! And she loves that it is "purplish-pink"!

Next up: Puddle-jumping.
The #1 rule in puddle-jumping: Always, always wear your bike helmet. It's a very dangerous activity.

And, a couple of G-man doing what he does best: spectating.
Soon enough, my little man, your time will come. Until then, sit there and look cute!
