JJ Time.

Stacy and JJ came up for a visit last week. We had a great time.
I'm sure it goes without saying that lunchtime was the highlight of the day for these two little piggies...

Look how big this guy is getting!
And he liked my camera! Brownie points from Aunt Shawna

J & G...
(And, yes, that is a little dolly in Gavin's hand. Leave the poor kid alone; he's surrounded by them.
I'm actually surprised he got ahold of this one as it is one of Kylie's faves... her name is "Ats" or this one might be "Feetch"... Ky goes for the unique names).
I can barely stand the cuteness on my couch!

Easter Egg Hunt

Last weekend we had our community's annual Easter egg hunt. Kylie was in the 1-3 year age group so she made out pretty well.
Here she is with her game face on (or the zoned-out, mom-has-the-camera-in-my-face-again face).
Gavin and grandma Lori were there to cheer on Kylie.
I think Gavin was thinking about his strategy for next year's hunt.

Gav got a blue egg and he was pumped!

Just me and my dad.

I LOVE this photo! And the boys in it, too.

Typical Gavin.

I happened to be down on Gavin's level the other day taking pics of him and got to witness/capture this chain of events....

Yep, that pretty much sums him up right now. He loves to discover... and everything goes directly into his mouth! Kylie didn't really go through this stage; she wasn't much of a "taste-tester". Gav, on the other hand, tries it all. This is unfortunate because there is a lot to taste around here. Kylie is very much into "collecting" (read: HOARDING) and so we have an infinite number of little animals/beads/trinkets, etc. all over this house. Up until now, our solution has been, "pick that up!" or "put it up high so he can't reach it." Now that the little man is starting to pull up, he is discovering many of these treasures. And he is loving it! Mommy is not.

Kylie's new ride.

We got this Hummer at the Little Tikes store two years ago and have just been waiting for Kylie to be mature and aware enough to be able to handle it. Now that she is a whopping 3 1/2 year old, we figured what the heck, let's throw her behind the wheel!
Actually, she has had a lot of practice driving all of the neighbor kids' power wheels so we decided it was time to bust out the Hummer.
This video is from last night; her first time driving it! Look out, she's a hot rod!

Please note, baby leopard strapped tightly into the passenger seat. She loves her baby leopard. Safety first!

Also, we plan on working on the driving skills... especially going in reverse; she gets that from me. The last part of the video looked like me driving in reverse! :)

Funny Sissy.

This is "The Face." That's what we call it around here. It's the "I just found me teeth and I like to clench my jaw and grind them together... all day long!" face.
This is also mid-army crawl... pulling with the left arm, like always.
He can cover a lot of space, and fast, I don't think he sees any need to actually crawl on his knees. Bummer for mommy, who is obsessed with crawling babies. Go figure.
Watching sissy play in the snow (this was a couple weeks ago... thankfully it is gone now!).

She is soooo hilarious!

An Interview with Kylie.

Questions about Mommy...

1. What is something mommy always says to you?

You say, Don’t use a binky. (This is true... I think it was fresh in her mind because we just had a discussion this morning about having a visit from the binky fairy. She told me she is ready to get rid of binkies and not use them at night anymore!!! :) )

2. What makes mommy happy?

Ummm, when you don’t be mean. (I think she meant when she's not mean)

3. How old is mommy?

28 (!!! Surprised that she knew this. We talk about age a lot but didn't think she would remember.)

4. What does mommy do when you're not around/when you are sleeping?

Make dinner

5. What is mommy really good at?

Doing blocks and sorting (she loves to sort all of her little animals into categories and always wants me and Matt to do it with her.)

6. What does mommy do for a job?

Make dinner (It sure feels like a job... now I wish someone would just pay me for doing it!)

7. What is my favorite food?

Soup what kind of soup? Dora soup (I don't agree with this answer)

8. What do you and I like to do together?

We like to do blocks together and play.

9. What does mommy like best about daddy?

You like his head.

10. Where is mommy's favorite place to go?

The library (hmmm... I think she was answering this one for herself or trying to convince me that it should be my favorite place!) Where else? Target! (she nailed that one!)

11. What's mommy's favorite color?

Red and Pink.

One of the guys.

Gavin and Grandpa Tim just hanging out on the couch watching the Ohio State game.
Thanks to grandpa and grandma, daddy and mommy had a Saturday afternoon out on the town sans kids. It was a much needed, relaxing break. :)

Ay yi yi.

It's been just "one of those days."
- a sick dog. ugh.
- a 3 1/2 year old who has figured out how to push mommy's buttons! Big time. Lots of battles today. And time-outs. Little stinker.
- an 11 month old who prefers mommy to hold him/play with him/be in reaching distance from him. at. all. times.

These photos aren't from today... but I figured they illustrated my day quite well so they are relevant.

"The angels"
Kylie decided to paint her own fingernails while I was upstairs laying Gavin down for a nap.
In the darkest polish she cold find... while leaning over the side of the new couch, reaching across to the end table. Miraculously there was only one little drop on the table... nothing on her clothes, nothing on the carpet and nothing on the couch. And she painted them about as well as I paint mine. I realize this could have been much worse.
And today during naptime she hid herself behind the couch where she proceeded to rub bright blue ink from a stamp pad all of her body. Non-washable ink. Awesome.

And one of the little man cheesing it for mommy. But I can pretty much bet my life that he erupted in a loud, overly-dramatic shriek when I turned my back to put the camera down. As if I ever go far! I am here all of the time, kid... relax!

Thank goodness for the SUN and the 68 degree temps today... Keeping me sane!!

Little Dude.

His feet are always crossed when he is laying on his tummy like this.

Getting up on all fours...
... and then remembering that it is so much easier to just do the old army crawl!
