Sis and bro.

Snapped a few shots of the kiddos cuddling the other day.
They are truly best friends.

But like any warm and fuzzy moment with Gav, it doesn't last long before he decides that it's time to be goofy and ornery again!
And he goes in for the kill...
Life with a brother... Never a dull moment. Good thing sister is always up for the challenge!

March!

I'm so excited that it is finally March! February has always been my least favorite month because it usually means that the germs are inevitable and so is the snow.
Even though this February wasn't very snowy, it was, unfortunately, very germy in our house. The kids actually had a healthy winter. After their bouts with pneumonia in the fall neither of them even had a cold until February arrived. And then we made up for it. All 4 of us had the same cold/cough for most of the month. Yuck.
Needless to say, I'm excited for Spring and fresh air and sunshine.

Here are some snaps from the other day.
Sibling love...

And then Gav was off to the races. "Getting some energy out," as he says. He is like a puppy and will just get up and start running around the house. Another reason that we are ready for winter to be over- let's get outside!

Poor Ky should know better than to lay on the floor with a crazy little brother flying around...
A quick smile for mom and then he was off again!

Snow fun.

Thankfully we haven't had much snow this winter, but as soon as we have even the slightest accumulation this guy is suiting up! He loves playing in the snow. And mommy loves watching him play in the snow (on the deck) from the warm comfort of inside the house! It's a win-win!

He looks official, right?!

A few weeks ago we took advantage of some warmer temps and built our first snowman of the season.

Gavie and his big smile... this was a few days before he lost one of those cute pearly whites. :( (Sigh)

As much as I mourned that lost tooth, I'm so thankful that both dimples are still in tact. Those crazy dimples own a large piece of my heart.

Speaking of owning hearts... she also claims a huge chunk.

Love her crinkly nose, crooked smile.

I had to snap a few of Gav post-snow play. I love his wild, messy hair and pink cheeks.
Breaking hearts since 2009. :)

Dear Santa.

I found these 2 pics on my phone and wanted to share. Kylie is getting so big. She addressed her letter to Santa all by herself this year. I love watching her write!

December Re-cap.

A quick little photo summary of our monthly festivities. :)

1. We made salt dough ornaments early in the month. The kids LOVE to roll dough and cut shapes so this was the perfect activity. Very messy but the messier the better in their eyes!

2. A few weeks later, we made cut-out cookies. Same routine but much tastier! Gav did more taste-testing than actual decorating! He thoroughly enjoyed this! Ky, on the other hand, is a very meticulous little cookie decorator. She mixes colors to make every color imaginable and puts a lot of time and detail into each cookie. And then eats it.

3. We wrote letters to Santa and delivered them to his own mailbox. Always a fun night!

4. Gavin played in the first snowfall of the year. Even if it was only a dusting. He has been waiting awhile to get out there so he went out the first chance he got!!
5. Kylie sported her cute pjs to school for Pajama/Polar Express Day.
6. Gavo helped me make some cookies! He also gladly helped me eat them!

7. The kids made their first ever gingerbread house. Once again, Gav ate a lot of it and Kylie devoted a good hour to making sure it looked just perfect in her eyes!

8. Ky posing before school...

9. The kiddos in their Christmas pjs in front of the tree.

10. Kylie Rae before her preschool Christmas program. So proud of our big girl!

O Christmas Tree.

This was the first year that we decided to cut down our Christmas tree. The past few years, we've gotten a live, already-cut tree but made the decision to start a new tradition this year.
We lucked out and had a beautiful Saturday to do it in early December so after breakfast we headed to the tree farm to find our perfect tree.

I had to get a pic with the kids and the "deer sign"! For the past few months, Gav points out every deer sign he sees along the road. When we ask him what that sign means, he rattles off his scripted answer, "If there's a deer on the road, we not run into it with our car."

Heading to the trees...

Love those smiles!

They found some leftover pumpkins and they were thrilled!

Looking over the chosen tree!

Cutting her down...
And taking her home...
