Lil Hunk.

Some more shots from his 6 month session...

You'll notice that he rarely looks straight at me/the camera... that would be because he is being thoroughly entertained by Kylie behind the camera! She is such a great assistant!

Not sure what Kylie is doing back there, but whatever it is, it sure got his attention!

My fave.

6 months old.

Just when it starts to sink in that I really have a 3 year old, I have to cope with the idea of my baby being 6 months old!!! It seems like we just brought him home from the hospital... but at the same time, it is also so hard to remember life without him. I wish I could freeze time and keep my little kiddos at this age! They are growing up way too fast!!
I had a little photo shoot with Gav the other day, so I will be sharing the photos of that over the next few days.

Here's my cutie in a basket... sporting a very rare "serious" face!

He is obsessed with his toes!

There is his signature dimpled smile!
He had his 6 month check-up yesterday and as suspected is a growing boy!!
He weighed in at 19 lbs. 7 oz. (75-90th %ile) and was 29.5" long, which lands him in the 97th percentile! I compared his stats to Kylie's and was amazed to see that she was also 29.5"... at 12 months!! And she was always tall for her age, as well.
Gavin has grown 3.5 inches in 2 months... Kylie had that same growth spurt in 6 months (from 6 months to 12 months). Apparently, all of that eating is for good reason! I'm a little nervous to see how much food this kid can put away during his teen years!

At 6 months, Gavin:
*Loves to eat (obviously)- baby food has been the highlight of his day for the last 3 weeks.
*Has started giving us big hugs/neck squeezes, especially when he is tired or right when he wakes up.
*Smiles all of the time!!
*Has the happiest eyes!
*Talks and coos like crazy.
*Is absolutely wild about his big sister.
*Lights up when daddy walks in the room.
*Is a mama's boy.
*Rolls all over the room... much to the delight of his sister.
*Is a good sleeper, even though he still wakes up once during the night to see his mommy (and eat, too).
*Is a really good napper.
*Is on a very good schedule. He has an amazing internal clock... wakes up within minutes of the same time everyday and is ready for naps/bedtime at the same time everyday.
*Loves being outside.
*Very social... loves being talked to... and is happiest when he is getting attention.
*His toes are his favorite toys.
*Likes his binky but not completely obsessed with it like his sister always was.
*Must have his silky blankie by his face when sleeping (he rubs his face in it).
*Still drools like crazy.
*Likes to chew on his fingers.
*Is loved more than he will ever know by every one of us!

Free entertainment.

I love that Gavin has a big sister for so many reasons. The constant entertainment factor is just one of the advantages!
As much as I like to think that he is a mama's boy... I think it is more accurate to call him a sister's boy!
These couple photos perfectly portray his infatuation with his sissy...
Mouth wide open, eyes smiling, arms swinging, squealing in delight whenever she is nearby.
Humoring their "MWAC" (mama with a camera) with a nice smile...
He saved some smiles for me, too.. his 2nd favorite lady in his life...

In only one year...

She went from this...

To this...

I can't get over how much she has changed in one year. The top photo was taken at her 2 year well-visit and the next one was taken last week at her 3 year well-visit! Can you tell that she wasn't diggin' the paper gown?! =)

As suspected, she is still growing like CRAZY!! She is now 39 1/4" tall and 34.5 lbs.! Both land her in the 75-90th percentile!
It was a great visit... no immunizations at 3 years- YAY! Just a pesky little flu vaccine that she took like a champ (didn't even flinch and thought her hot pink band-aid was "soooo pitty!").

Baby Bonding.

Gavin and JJ had some quality bonding time during the party. Although, I don't know if JJ was as thrilled with it as Gavin.
Here's Gavin yanking on JJ's shirt, pulling him in close...

"Wow, it's a real, live baby!"
And a little hug and pose for the camera!!

A few of the little dude... enjoying all of the action at the party...

Step Right Up.

Kylie's 3rd birthday party was a success! We totally lucked out with the weather and had a beautiful day... sandwiched between 2 cold and rainy days.
The little birthday girl had an absolute blast, as did all of her friends.
I took a lot of photos... this post will be dedicated to the details. I enjoy details. :)

The food table:
Favor boxes for the lil ones:
Duck game:
Garage/Big Top (Photo Booth to the left): - Matt transformed the garage by hanging red table cloths all around ... I have big ideas and he is such a good sport to humor me :)
Ky, before her party, pointing to the ice cream truck driving down the street... little did she know that she had a TON of sugar and treats waiting for her.

The main attraction... the bounce castle!! The kids LOVED this thing... and so did the parents because it entertained the kids for the entire party! Kylie got to enjoy her castle the entire day... daddy set it up in the morning so she got to jump in it all by herself for hours and then jump in the company of her friends later. And then a little more jumping after the party, before bed, in the dark!
The clown cake

The popcorn cupcakes turned out so cute (not real popcorn- mini marshmallows :) )!
Clown cupcakes... can never have too many cupcakes!
The balloon guy that came and made AMAZING balloons for all of the kids (guitars, swords, chainsaws, monkeys, etc)!
And for a couple big kids, too!
It wouldn't be a carnival without carnival food and thanks to Pat and Debi we had some deliciously authentic carnival food. Hot dogs, corn dogs, popcorn, steak on a stick, funnel cakes, lemon shakes, snow cones, and cotton candy (straight from a real cotton candy machine)!

It was an incredible day for our incredible 3 year old. Now we just hope she remembers it! :)
