The day he turned 3.

Gavin turned 3 on Friday of Easter weekend this year so he had a fun few days of celebration.

We started off his birthday morning with a Happy Birthday candle in his egg and cheese bagel.

After Kylie got home from preschool, we had lunch and then colored Easter eggs.

Grandma Lori was even here for the big day!

After Daddy and Pa got home from work we all went to dinner and then came home for more birthday fun.
Gav got to open some presents (all Spiderman/Superhero-themed, of course!)

Earlier in the day, Gav had picked out donuts for his bday dessert, so we sang Happy Birthday again and enjoyed our donuts together!

The big 3 year old.

So hard to believe, but my baby boy turned THREE a couple weeks ago. The last three years have been full of so much laughter, fun, activity, injuries, and wake-ful nights with this little guy in our lives. He has added so much love, too. Gavie definitely knows how to have fun and how to make those around him have fun. He loves to make others laugh. He is so silly. And, such a chip off his daddy's block! At times I feel like I could be raising my husband. But that's a good thing. If I raise Gavin to turn out to be just like his father than I will have succeeded as a mother!
Over the last few months, Gav has fallen in love with all things superhero. He loves spiderman, batman, hawkman, superman and anything else that fights bad guys or comes to the rescue.
It was a no-brainer that superhero would be the theme for his 3rd birthday party. We started the festivities with a Clark Kent/Superman photo shoot. To say that Gav was in character would be an understatement! I had a picture of Clark Kent on my phone so that he would know what we were doing. He kept asking to see it and would adjust his stance or his face to make sure he was really doing it justice! It cracked me up to see how into it he was! :)

More pics coming soon... and hopefully by soon I don't mean 3 weeks. I've been a bad, bad blogger.

Sis and bro.

Snapped a few shots of the kiddos cuddling the other day.
They are truly best friends.

But like any warm and fuzzy moment with Gav, it doesn't last long before he decides that it's time to be goofy and ornery again!
And he goes in for the kill...
Life with a brother... Never a dull moment. Good thing sister is always up for the challenge!

March!

I'm so excited that it is finally March! February has always been my least favorite month because it usually means that the germs are inevitable and so is the snow.
Even though this February wasn't very snowy, it was, unfortunately, very germy in our house. The kids actually had a healthy winter. After their bouts with pneumonia in the fall neither of them even had a cold until February arrived. And then we made up for it. All 4 of us had the same cold/cough for most of the month. Yuck.
Needless to say, I'm excited for Spring and fresh air and sunshine.

Here are some snaps from the other day.
Sibling love...

And then Gav was off to the races. "Getting some energy out," as he says. He is like a puppy and will just get up and start running around the house. Another reason that we are ready for winter to be over- let's get outside!

Poor Ky should know better than to lay on the floor with a crazy little brother flying around...
A quick smile for mom and then he was off again!
